After graduating from the faculty of Dentistry at the University of Havana in 1996, Dr. Fonseca began his practice as a general dentist until 1999. In that year, he entered the residency program of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the same university, completing his degree in 2004.

After practicing as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon in his native Cuba for several years, he decided to emigrate to the United States, where he completed the dental residency program at the Dentistry faculty of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital & Clinics in 2016.

Currently, Dr. Fonseca is certified by the American Dental Association and is licensed to practice General Dentistry in the state of Florida, United States, and is an active member of the following organizations:

American Dental Association
West Coast Dental Society
Collier County Dental Society.
